FAQs About This Schedule

Why are you NOT offering Biology?

We offer one science class per year.

  • We choose that class based on feedback from parents and availability of teachers.

  • We will probably offer Biology in 2023-2024

  • We are honored to partner with Eric Crouch, an electronics engineer and an outstanding educator, as our science teacher for this upcoming year.

  • Introduction to Engineering will be an exciting adventure!

  • Our students will learn science topics that are often de-emphasized in traditional high school science curriculums.

  • All teenagers are welcome, there is no pre-requisite to Intro to Engineering.

Why are you offering BOTH World History and US History?

  • US History is our primary offering for Social Studies for this upcoming year and we are delighted that Mrs. Youhas is teaching for us again!

  • This class is targeted to students in 10th grade and above, but advanced 9th grade students may also take the course.  This course is taught at a college-prep level.

  • We are on a 3-year rotation of the following Social Studies courses:

- US History  (2022-2023)

- Government (fall 2023) and Economics (spring 2024)

- World History

  • We love to offer excellent electives!

  • We are delighted that Mr. Meredith is teaching for us again!  When he agreed to teach World History a year ago, he said he would not teach all of it in only two semesters. He wanted one semester to focus just on the past hundred years (both World Wars, etc).

  • Any teenager is welcome to take the “World History since 1914” course.  There is not a pre-requisite; it is OK if you haven’t studied earlier World History yet.

Is the Drawing Class Full?

  • Yes, as of July 20th the class is full.  No room for more students; sorry!

When and where will the Fun Fall Registration Event happen?

  • Wednesday August 10th at Bristol Skateway; see our Registration page for more details

Will there be any fun field trips this summer?

  • August 3 at Natural Tunnell State Park.

  • August 16 at Bays Mountain Park.

  • At least one more

  • Email us (leaders@bristolacademy.org) for information about any field trips
