Geometry Explorations
for 10-13 Year Olds

Join us for a Math Adventure!

Students will:

  • Explore relationships between shapes and angles

  • Categorize different shapes according to their properties

  • Construct interesting geometric figures using a compass and straightedge

  • Calculate missing angle measurements in diagrams of growing complexity

  • And more!

Other Math topics besides Geometry will be drawn into class exercises: percents, fractions, arithmetic, mental math challenges, and more.

This is NOT a full Math curriculum.  This is a supplement to whatever Math lessons these students have with you at home.

There is no prerequisite to this course.   Teaching will accommodate a variety of student skill levels.

Students who dislike Math or feel like they are not good at it are welcome.

Students who love Math are welcome.

The goal of this class is to enrich students' foundational understanding of Math, equipping them to succeed in the advanced topics they will encounter in upcoming years.  We'll achieve this goal together, through fun explorations and challenges together.

No homework will be required.  Students should be doing whatever homework their regular Math curriculum assigns.  This class will supplement and enrich that other work.

No required textbooks.
